Musica Sveciae
The child prodigy of the violin, Franz Berwald, was from an early age tempted to write for his instrument. At 22 he composed a personal and unconventional string quartet in G minor, perhaps the foremost composition from his youth. An even more mature work is his Septet in B flat major, a sparkling chamber symphony with the same scoring as Beethovenšs classical works.
