Hans Huber is one of the most unjustly neglected composers of his generation (1852-1921), although in his native Switzerland he has always been very highly regarded - with good cause, for his contribution to Swiss music was greatly significant, as a composer, pianist, conductor and administrator. He was a prolific composer, and included eleven violin sonatas in his considerable output.
