Price: Sek. 50 During the last years of his short but stunning career, Guido Cantelli conducted some of the most renowned soloists of his day. The present CD features, indeed, two such famous ”collaborations”: with Jascha Heifetz, in 1954, Cantelli performed Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, an interpretation that soars to great heights of lyricism and poetry. In 1955, conducting Walter Gieseking and the New York Philharmonic, it was the turn of Mozart’s Concerto KV 467. The result was one of matchless perfection, and this recording remains a classic of this work’s discography, a point of reference for the interpretation of Mozart’s concertos.
