And yet, however steeped in glory, not one of them has attained the notoriety- let’s call it- planetary that enjoys Jose´ Van Dam. Sometimes as viennese Figaro, sometimes « Golaud of the century », now an unpretentious singer, now a staggering wagnerian, Jose´ Van Dam is on all stages, with the greatest conductors, in the greatest concert halls, as the saying goes. |
