Phantasm's unique sound and dazzling approach to viol playing have catapulted it to international prominence. The quartet was founded in 1994 by Laurence Dreyfus, who had a vision to transform the traditional viol consort into a dynamic chamber group capable of the most passionate lyricism. The group's members - Wendy Gillespie, Jonathan Manson, Markku Luolajan-Mikkola and Dreyfus - are all renowned period-instrument performers in their own right.
