Mats Löfving

Clarinetist, basset hornist and teacher Mats Löfving began his professional music studies at the Malmö Colege of Music in 1980. From 1983 to 1984 he studied at UCLA with Gary Gray on a scholarship from Lund University and returned to Sweden to complete his masters Degree in performance in 1985.

Awards accorded him include first prize at Atwater Kent Competition.
His debut solo album, released in 1989 on MAP, includes music by Poulence, Stravinsky, Eklund, Pierné, Milhaud, and Brahms.

A devoted teacher and chamber music performer, Mr. Löfving makes his home in Skåne Sweden where he teaches at the Höganäs Music school.
