A few months before his deadly accident, Dino Ciani held a few concerts with the famous baritone Claudio Desderi, performing two masterpieces of Schubert’s Lieder production: Winterreise and Die schÖne Müllerin. In these works, which belong to the last stages of Schubert’s creative activity, piano and voice dialogue on a level of absolute parity, with results of remarkable originality. Those concerts, fortunately, were recorded by an amateur and are now finally available in this precious double-CD set. A must for lovers of great music.
