Every time one opens the coffer of Giuseppe Tartini’s violin concertos, one is sure to find some masterpiece. The composer from Pirano d’Istria was able to blend the typical fertility of 18th-century authors with writing that is quite idiomatic and already showing pre-Romantic traits. It is not easy to penetrate Tartini’s expressive world: his music, full of allusions and literary references, calls for interpreters who have studied it in depth, and none can be better than the members of L’Arte dell’Arco, who have been the ones to have brought this repertoire back to light after centuries of oblivion. The present CD, which features concertos D118, D61, D43 and D1, can be considered, like the preceding four volumes, another milestone in the recording of Tartini.       Dynamic on sale
