His orchestral works follows the line of Mendelssohn and are lovingly performed by The Danish Philharmonic Orchestra, South Jutland under Iona Brown. Axel Gade composed in the line of his father and his second violin concerto, a virtuosic showpiece, is here performed by the young concert master of the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Christina Åstrand.
