The Swedish composer John Jacobsson started his musical career as a music shop assistant. He received privat lessons from Ludwig Norman in harmony, composition and piano. Due to his employment he was disqualified from entering the Royal Academy of Music, but continued the privet lessons. His first publication was piano music and songs from 1857. He produced about 130 lieder and his music were influenced by Mendelssohn and Schumann |
